Known for always taking tours beyond the normal BlackGirlTravel.com (BGT) is doing it yet again! Join BGT founder Fleace Weaver in Venice, Italy for "Masquerade - Carnevale di Venezia 2020". This one is only for those wanting to experince Carnevale in true Venetian style!
Once a year for two weeks, the city of Venice, the city built on water transforms into a giant costumed party. The celebration is A visual feast as journey back to 18th century Venice, where the rich and famous (and infamous) donned mask and costume to hide their social status while participating in the decadent, hedonistic pleasures. Join us as we blur the boundaries of reality and fantasy with masked uninhibited mingling and merriment. The days will be filled with endless stimulating possibilities! Added this year ... Pisa and Milan!

The Fantasy Begin!
ITINERARY -
Day 1: Departure Day: Wenesday, February 12, 2020 depart the USA to arrive in Venice Marco Polo Airport 12:00 noon on the 13th. Book your own flights or plan to fly from JFK with others in the group. Your departure will be from Milan on February 21st. You can also plan to arrive a day early (MORNING of the 12th) and take the train from Milan to Venice with Fleace (hotel and train fare not included in the pre-stay)
Venice
Nothing can prepare you for that first startling impression of the city in the waters of the Adriatic.
Day 2: Upon your arrival in Venice, you will be met by Fleace for the 1:00 pm transfer from the airport by private boat. You leave the Adriatic heading for the Grand Canal, lined with stately palaces and immense cathedrals that will exalted your senses. After check-in and quick change of before heading out for the your Carnevale orientation/arrival lunch. After lunch, you will have a guided insiders tour by foot.
Return to the hotel some post flight R&R before heading out to climb aboard a traditional Venetian galleon and experience the craziest floating parties of the year. Bring a secondary custom from home.
Day 3: After Breakfast, it time for you fitting for for the Carnevale ball
. After sign-up you will be sent a contact for per-ordering your Carnevale costumes. Rental prices will range between 300 and 800 euro depending on how extravagant your fantasy. Of course, you can bring your costume from home. After lunch we are off to hunt for your Carnevale mask. No Carnevale costumes is complete with the right mask. You will visit two of the most famous Venetian mask makers to shop for the perfect mask for your costume and alter ego. Why not get a secondary mark for the Carnevale bar crawl later in the evening.
Day 4: After a night of drinking, sleep in only waking for breakfast. At noon we will once a again take to the streets for the many celebrations which includes what is considered one of the most anticipated events of the Carnival, the Flight of the Angel in Venice is the official opening of the celebrations of St. Mark's Square. The Maria of the Carnival 2019 will accomplish the historic svolo (flight) from St Mark's Bell Tower. Later watch the best mask contest. Take it to the next levet by participating in the competition.
This is the night that make dreams come true witnessing and fulfilling fantasy. You will have 3 ball packages to choose between, 190, 500 or 1500 euro. Fleace will be attending the The official carnival dinner and show is not simply a dinner. It's an exclusive experience where the pleasure of palate and party come together. The question for the evening is will not be who you are BUT who you will be behind the mask. The 3 party choices will be sent to you by email with links to purshase your ticket.
Of course, you do not have to participate in any of the Balls. Evening suggestion will be given to those not attending a Ball for the evening.
Day 5: After breakfast, today is your free day to enjoy Venice at your own pace or follow Fleace. Get lost among all the festivities or explore more parts of the city. Do not forgot to by your Venetian glass to ship back home.
Florence and Pisa
Day 6: Say goodbye Venice and hello Florence as your take off for Fleace's home city to visit in a very personal way. After your arrival in Florence toss your bag in room and head of to beautiful
Tuscan country side for a wine tasting. Wine and Olive Oil are the essences and the two kings of Tuscan food and wine culture. There is no Tuscan recipe that doesn't include olive oil in its preparation and doesn't consider a specific wine to be paired with. With this fine dining experience, you will discover all the secrets of the production of Wine and Olive Oil while visiting and dining at a boutique Winery in the Chianti Wine region. After
5 whirlwind days this evening is yours.
Day 7: Start your day with a walking tour of Florence, whereA
you see the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria and Porcellino the legendary bronze fountain of a boar. Rubbing his nose ensures your return to Florence. After a quick lunch visit Pisa, to see its famous Leaning Tower. Return to Florence for leather shopping at the
many shops around town.
Milan
Day 8: Today, you check-out and head to Milan, one of the world's most important fashion capitals. After check-in, head out to lunch on a indoor rooftop before visiting the Duomo (Cathedral of Santa Maria Nascente), Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II . Follow Fleace to some of her favorite smaller boutiques for unique pieces and vintage gems. Enjoy, happy hour and dinner at a place to see and be seen. Hint: Make sure you a dressed fashion forward. It is Milan!
Day 9: No trip to Milan is not complete without designer outlet shopping where you will find lables like Gucci, Prada, Versace, Valentino among others. For those that want a more personal experinces, we can arrange for a personal shopper to travel with you. You last evening in Milan will be spend living you best life at a designer resturant, followed by dancing. BRING YOUR A GAME, INCLDING HEELS AND MAKE-UP! At this location, dress to impress and intimidate!
Day 10: Transfer to the Malpensa airport in Milan at 6am. If you flight is earlier, you can take a taxi and we can help arrange for a private car service. If you would like to spend more time in Milan, store you luggage at the hotel and take an later afternoon or evening flight.
