Los Angeles (May 15, 2009)
-- Three years ago, Ms. Fleace Weaver, founder of BlackGirlTravel.com, had a fantastic idea. What if she could bring a group of beautiful Black women with her to Italy? For years she tried to tell her friends how enamored many Italian men were with Black women, they'd heard it, but, didn't believe it. "Italy is the Black Woman's Brazil (without the sex)," referring to the not so secret adoration Black men have enjoyed for years when traveling to South America. Fleace knew she could put together a tour of her favorite Italian cities that would forever change the travel industry and the world's perception of Black women.

African American women have always been smart, beautiful and alluring but 2009 is the year that a Black woman became First Lady of the United States. And, after eighty five years, Disney Studios will feature its first Black princess in the movie "The Frog Princess." BlackGirlTravel.com showcases the beauty and desirability of Black women while showing them the world. The tour's mantra is "Black Girls Rock"!

Unlike your typical international multi-city tour, Bella Italia, the signature tour of BlackGirlTravel.com, is a one of kind travel experience filled with boundless energy and non-stop activities. Each year the tour connects like minded, professional fun-loving black women around the world in a spirit of sistahood and international exploration. The 10-day tour features cultural outings, tours, shopping, dining and incredible night life.

As stated above, the tours also expose its traveler to the rumored fascination and admiration many Italians have for African-American women. Everywhere we go, we hear, "Bella Bella, (beautiful, beautiful) from men trying to get our attention. It's crazy and sometimes even overwhelming" says, Fleace. It seems the Italians are not the only ones intrigued by the traveling brown beauties. In 2007, while touring Sicily, the Japanese press, in town for a convention, followed the ladies around Taormina taking pictures and requesting photo ops.

Fleace is always striving to raise the bar in the planning of the whirlwind tour. "Our 2006 - 2008 tours were great, but will dim in comparison to the plans for the 2009 traveler" says Weaver. This year's tour will be a true international effort, as some of the biggest Italian event promoters have aligned with Bella Italia to create parties around the anticipation of the ladies (Bellas) arrival in Italy. "Rome hasn't seen anything like this! To have this many beautiful African-American women at one party is surreal. These ladies will be without doubt the Bells of the ball. "My friends are going crazy and the tour doesn't even arrive until September" say Alessio Letizia, one of the promoters in Rome. The ladies will have VIP access, and exclusive sections at the most exquisite clubs in Italy. The anticipation for the Bellas arrival is so high that a special website, www.BelleAmericane.com was created for the Italians.

The site features pictures of the 2009 Bellas along with information on the parties that they will be attending. With all the planning, special attention, the Bellas will party like a "Rock Star"! In Rome, the party will be held at the elegant Discoteca Jet Set in the heart of Rome's fashionable Piazza Umberto. In Naples, Discoteca Nabilah built on the sand and shores of Bacoli - near the ancient remains of the Cuma Acropolis is one of the most famous and impressive beach clubs in the world. On the isle of Capri, the ladies will be at a special happy hour at Piccola Bar in the center of La Piazzetta. The final party will be at Panasia Beach Club on the Island of Sicily in the resort town of Taormina.

Bella Italia is not just about fun. In 2009 the tour will also "travel with a purpose". In keeping with BlackGirlTravel.com's goal of exposing Black women to the beauty of the world and the world to the beauty of Black women -- Inside and out, Fleace Weaver created "Sistahs Without Borders," an initiative to contribute to the empowerment of the communities her travelers visit by supporting their social, conservation, and economic development programs. While in Rome the Bellas will spend an afternoon at Girls Town of Italy. "I see our travelers as ambassadors to the world. We can make a difference, even in small ways like giving books or taking time to visit incredible organizations such as Girls Town of Italy. Love and compassion knows no international borders" says Fleace Weaver.
